Truth About Corruption Within Our Judicial System

Between the officers that serve to “protect” people’s rights and the Judges who sit high in front of individuals being charged and deciding their fate, our judicial system is a shady one.  We all know that some officers take advantage of their duty and as the 21st century is allowing for my technology advancements such as camera phones and immediate uploading to the web, it’s becoming a lot easier to reveal the truth.

Today it seems like cops are misusing their rights by physically taking advantage of law-abiding citizens or convicted people.  There are a vast amount of videos displaying cops knocking people out, unnecessary taser usage, dangerous uses with pepper spray, and many other cruel and unethical ways to control a situation.

Is it necessary to have 10-20 cops to detain a single individual who clearly hasn’t even begun resisting arrest?  For instance, Eric Garner who was a Brooklyn resident ended up dying by the hands of an officer, whom claims “he was trying to detain Garner.”  We all understand as an officer you should definitely perform your duty in a proper fashion, but not by choking anyone and to the degree of holding the choke until the man dies right there on the scene.

Samantha Ramsey is another victim who sadly passed on when she was leaving a house party where a sheriff tried to stop her and she continued driving.  As she drove away avoiding the sheriff, he felt the need to shoot her not once but a few times.  The sheriff states, “she was trying to run him over,” but all other witnesses attest that he simply jumped on the hood of her car and began shooting at the teen.  This is again another inappropriate way law officials take advantage of their duties.  Simply if anyone else were to do such actions, he/she would be jailed for murder, and this officer is getting the opposite of that, receiving suspension with pay.

To say the least, more and more officers are abusing their rights as being a law official.  For example, John Crawford is a victim of another shooting in a Walmart of all places.  Nothing was said from the officers before they began shooting at Crawford, but they believed he was pointing a gun at innocent shoppers.  This is another situation where officers just feel the urge to act out and use the tools they are equipped with and not follow the rules of their handbook.  Also, these officers are notorious for lying and manipulating the truth to be sure they aren't the criminals being convicted and prove to the general public they performed their duty lawfully.

When evaluating convicted criminals, it seems the violent offenders are getting less of a sentence than the non-violent offenders.  Judges are the “lawful” decision makers when it comes down to someone’s life and future plans.  They say, "money can't buy happiness" but we have seen that it can truly buy freedom in certain cases. At the end of the day, it’s all about the Benjamins that can be collected and benefit the county.
